Cruising, and dancing, from Aswan to Luxor

Carol and Ryan go places

For three days we had nine people waiting on us… and our own boat.

We sailed up from Aswan to Luxor and, although the boat accommodated twelve, we were the only guests. Tourism has taken a massive hit in this country.

Great for us though! We had our own guide who is actually an archaeologist and had worked on most of the sites we visited. Friends, meet Ahmed.

First stop, the Temple of Kom Ombo, built to honour the crocodile god Sobek and the falcon god Horus.

At this point I should explain that the current was in our favour but not the wind. Most of the time, this exquisite boat was being towed downstream by this tug. Only in Egypt.
